POST-WORKOUT SMOOTHIE RECIPE

So today I was not motivated at all to workout. But I have been in such a great groove and I didn’t want to break it. So I decided to make it fun and workout at the beach. I think a great way to motivate yourself is working out with a view or somewhere you love! All I brought was one resistance band and I did a quick 15 minute leg workout (and I threw in some pushups for a little upper body). Something is better than nothing! Then I went home and made one of my favorite post-workout smoothies.

Smoothies are the best because you can decide whether to make them filling or refreshing and light, and you can always pack them with a ton of nutrients. Today I decided to make a more filling smoothie as my post-workout snack. After working out you always want to make sure you consume some protein in order to help your body put on that muscle that you are trying so hard for. This smoothie consisted of protein, fruits, veggies, and superfoods and I wanted to share the recipe with you all!

*Mommy/Daddy Tip: Smoothies are also amazing for your little ones because you can throw in some hidden veggies and fiber!!

INGREDIENTS:

  • About 1 cup Frozen fruit (whichever combination of fruit you like best, I used strawberries, blueberries, and mangoes)

  • Handful of Spinach

  • 1 Tbsp. Chia seeds

  • 1 scoop Vegan Protein powder (I use THIS one)

  • 1 half of an Avocado

  • Oat milk (I fill it up so it touches the top of the frozen fruit, plus a little more. It depends how thick or thin you like your smoothie)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Blend, pour into your favorite cup, and enjoy!

*Another tip- if you want to make this smoothie lighter and less filling, you can take away the protein powder, and instead of oat milk use coconut water!! Refreshing and delicious.
