MY CURRENT SKINCARE ROUTINE

Updated: Mar 8

I am so passionate about skincare. I have probably watched hundreds of skincare videos on Youtube. So, I decided to give you guys my current skincare routine! This is what works for me at the moment. Every once in while I may add or take away from it, but I am very hesitant in doing so. I started using some of these products within the last couple months, and this was the first time I changed up my routine in over a year. I have oily, acne-prone skin, so I am nervous to try new products in case they make me breakout. So this is what works for me right now, but please note that what works for me might not work for you. But I do love to talk skincare, so if anyone has any questions feel free to message me!

DAY TIME ROUTINE:

STEP 1: CLEANSER

I use The Inkey List Salicylic Acid Cleanser. This is best for acne prone skin. Salicylic acid is one of the best ingredients for acne. Since it is in a cleanser, it is not too harsh since you wash it off and it is not a leave on treatment. Again, this can dry you out so if you have dry skin this wouldn’t be recommended.

I also will use this Purifying Enzyme Cleanser from Skintuition. This is one of my favorite brands that I have been using for a couple years now. I use this if I work out mid-day and need to wash my face again. I do not use the salicylic acid cleanser more than twice a day to avoid drying out my skin. I usually only wash my face twice a day anyways to avoid over drying, but like I said unless I work out and need to wash it a third time this is what I will use.

STEP 2: VITAMIN C

After washing my face I will go in with the Drunk Elephant Vitamin C Serum. Vitamin C is brightening and tightening. So this can help reduce acne scars and fine lines. I started using this to help with some scarring and I have definitely seen a difference.

STEP 3: NIACINAMIDE

I then go in with The Inkey List Niacinamide Serum. I have really been loving this brand. It is so well priced and their products are simple and effective. Niacinamide helps control oil, and helps with acne and hyperpigmentation.

STEP 4: EPIDERMAL REPAIR SERUM

Next I use the Rescuing Serum from Skintuition. This is a much pricier product, but it really works wonders. It helps with skin repair, dark spots, and blemishes. I notice the benefits of this the most when I use it after I pop a pimple (which is bad don’t do that lol). But it heals it so quickly!

STEP 5: MOISTURIZER

One thing I have learned is just because you have oily skin does not mean you should not moisturize. For a while I wouldn’t use a moisturizer during the day and I had very dehydrated skin. This can cause more oil because your skin needs to make up for the dehydration, which then causes more acne. I found the Farmacy Daily Greens Moisturizer I love to use for day time that doesn’t make me too oily, and what I do is just go in with a super light powder to get rid of any shine.

STEP 6: SUNSCREEN

I use the Super Goop Unseen Sunscreen. It is not shiny and I really love the texture!

NIGHT TIME ROUTINE:

STEP 1: CLEANSER

I use the same Inkey List Salicylic Acid Cleanser

STEP 2: RETINOL

Next I use the Sunday Riley Retinol Serum. Retinol is great for anti aging and acne. I have noticed a huge difference since using it in my acne scars and skin texture. With retinol you only use it at night, but not every night. For people who are just starting out or don’t use much skincare only use it twice a week. I have oily skin which means I have thick skin, and I use a lot of skincare so my skin was not sensitive to it at all. I use it 2 days on, and 1 day off.

STEP 3: GLYCOLIC ACID

I use the Drunk Elephant Glycolic Acid on the day that I do not use the retinol. This helps exfoliate dead skin cells.

STEP 4: EPIDERMAL REPAIR SERUM

I use this Rescuing Serum from Skintuition at night as well!

STEP 5: STEM CELL SERUM

This is Skintuition Rejuvenating Growth Factor Serum is also pricey. It includes 600+ growth factors and skin proteins, and promotes healthy and glowing skin! Since this is an expensive one I just use it at night, but it really makes such a difference.

STEP 6: MOISTURIZER

At night I use the Quenching Moisturizer from Skintuition. This one is so hydrating and I put a lot on at night to make sure my skin stays extra hydrated! It doesn’t make me break out at all.
